In three years, within the framework of criminal proceedings regarding possible corruption offenses by NABU employees, not a single suspicion, indictment, or verdict has been issued. This is stated in the Report of the Temporary Investigative Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the investigation of possible facts of corruption or corruption-related offenses in law enforcement agencies, courts, and judicial authorities, reports UNN.
Its authors expressed particular concern about the situation with internal control and integrity of NABU's own employees.
"In 2022–2025, six criminal proceedings were registered regarding possible corruption or corruption-related offenses by NABU employees, in particular under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the same time, for the entire specified period: no person has been notified of suspicion; no indictment has been sent to court; there are no guilty verdicts," the TIC report states.
The Temporary Investigative Commission believes that such statistics may indicate a lack of real results of internal control and the selectivity and closed nature of the system in matters of accountability of its own employees.
Earlier, international experts who conducted the first independent audit of NABU emphasized chronic "leaks" of information from the Bureau, for which no effective investigation was conducted. "This is not a state anti-corruption body — it is a caste of untouchables covering for each other," commented on the results of the international audit of NABU political expert Oleh Posternak.
