Nearly 90 people were injured in a collision of two passenger trains near Bedford. 11 passengers suffered very serious injuries, one person died.

The number of victims of a collision between two passenger trains near the town of Bedford, north of London, has become known. According to the East of England Ambulance Service, 89 people sustained injuries of varying severity, reports UNN.

It is reported that 11 passengers suffered very serious injuries, and another 22 people sustained moderate injuries. In addition, 56 people escaped with minor injuries.

Earlier, the British Transport Police confirmed the death of one person as a result of the accident. According to preliminary data, two trains of the East Midlands Railway company, which were heading to London's St Pancras station, collided. One of them was traveling from Corby, the other from Nottingham.
