On Tuesday, April 2, the gas supplier will supply its customers with the first trial volumes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the United States.
Moldova, which traditionally depends on Russian gas supplies, is stepping up efforts to diversify its energy supply in the face of a full-scale war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
Energocom said in a statement that the company will buy LNG from the Alexandroupolis terminal in cooperation with Greek state-owned DEPA Commercial.
On Monday and Tuesday, we will purchase 14,000 MWh of natural gas per day from the port of Alexandroupolis. In total, this is about 28,000 MWh, which is equivalent to 2.6 million cubic meters of gas
The company has already tested the import route from Greece by purchasing a small amount of gas in 2023.
