No scheduled power outages are planned for today, August 4. However, Ukrainians are urged to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak hours. Due to the bad weather, 96 settlements in 4 regions were cut off in the morning. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy, UNN reports.
Generation and consumption
Today, scheduled power outages will not be applied. For possible changes, please visit the official websites of your regional power distribution companies," the Ministry of Energy said.
In order to maintain the stable operation of the power system, the agency called for rational and economical use of electricity, especially during peak hours - from 7:00 to 11:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00.
Weather conditions
As of this morning, 96 settlements in Kyiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia regions have no power supply due to the bad weather.
Networks status
The Ministry of Energy said that in the Southern region, a high-voltage overhead line connecting the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova was briefly disconnected. Due to technological disruptions, the voltage at the substation was reduced, and renewable energy facilities were unloaded.
The power supply has been restored. In addition, a high-voltage overhead line was disconnected due to grassroots fires caused by a storm.
In the Central region, a high-voltage overhead line was reportedly disconnected. The reason is damage on the section that runs through the territory of Belarus (after 24.02.22, Ukrainian power engineers have no access to its maintenance).
In the Northern region, a substation and household consumers lost power. The power supply was restored using a backup scheme.
