Military vehicles were set on fire in Kharkiv and Prykarpattia: three more Russian accomplices detained

Law enforcers detained three people who set fire to military off-road vehicles on the orders of Russia. Two of the suspects acted in Prykarpattia, and one in Kharkiv. They face up to 10 years in prison.

The Security Service and the National Police have detained three more young men who set fire to military SUVs of the Defense Forces  in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Kharkiv on the instructions of Russia. UNN reports this with reference to the SBU.

According to the investigation, the detained young men were coordinated by Russian special services, who promised money for destroying the cars of Ukrainian defenders. 

The men used flammable mixtures to set fires, and then recorded the fires on their own phones for "reporting" to the occupiers.

Thus, in Ivano-Frankivsk region , a 15-year-old local resident and his 18-year-old relative were detained. According to the SBU, they set fire to three Armed Forces off-road vehicles that were undergoing maintenance after completing combat missions on the front line.

The young men cycled around the area on bicycles, where they tracked the vehicles of Ukrainian troops. After identifying potential targets, they took pictures of them and sent them for "approval." 

Then, on the instructions of the "curator", the defendants made a flammable mixture, doused military vehicles and set them on fire.

In Kharkiv , law enforcement officers detained a 22-year-old contract soldier who had left his military unit without permission and was hiding in the regional center.

On one of the Telegram channels, a representative of Russian intelligence "contacted" the young man and offered him money in exchange for cooperation.

On the orders of the enemy, the young man set fire to six off-road vehicles of Ukrainian troops during one night.

Law enforcement officers detained him when he tried to flee the crime scene.

Both offenders are in custody. They face 8 to 10 years in prison.

In addition, the issue of bringing the minor involved to justice is being resolved, the SBU added.
