American Airlines, United, and Delta airlines have asked the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to suspend all flights globally. This was reported by ABC news with reference to a message from the FAA on Friday morning, UNN reports.

The FAA asks air traffic controllers to inform pilots that airlines are currently experiencing communication problems.
Meanwhile, flights will remain in the air, but none of the American, United or Delta flights will take off.
It is not yet clear how widespread the problem is, but Melbourne Airport in Australia has also said it is "experiencing global technology issues" that affect check-in procedures.
