Lithuanian President confirms Ukraine's permission to fire long-range missiles at Russia

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda has confirmed that Ukraine has received permission from  partners to launch long-range weapons strikes on Russian territory. He wrote about this in the social network X on Sunday, November 17, UNN reports

The day has come!  Ukraine can now strike at Russian military targets with long-range missiles

- wrote Nauseda.

He pointed out that is a decisive moment in Ukraine's struggle against the aggressor Russia.

Nauseda also noted that peace cannot be achieved through weakness. "Peace is the reward of the strong. Be strong, Ukraine!" the President of Lithuania added. 

Context

The New York Times reported that US President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike Russian territory.

According to U.S. officials, the weapons will likely be used initially against Russian and North Korean troops to protect Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of western Russia.

It has also been reported that France and Britain have authorized Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory with their SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles. The decision was made after the US authorization.
