The leader of the French far-right National Rally (RN) party Marine Le Pen has promised that her party's prime minister will not allow Ukraine to use long-range weapons provided by France to strike inside Russia and will prevent French President Emmanuel Macron from suggesting that he could send troops to Ukrainian soil. "If Emmanuel Macron wants to send troops to Ukraine, and the prime minister is against it, then troops will not be sent to Ukraine. The prime minister has the last word," she told CNN.
The publication points out that in an interview on Thursday, Le Pen "signaled a sharp change in the level of French support for Ukraine if elected.
In addition to blocking the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine, which Macron sees as a way to increase the effectiveness of military instructors, Le Pen told CNN that Ukraine's permission to use long-range missiles supplied by France in Russia would also be canceled.
In addition to the deployment of troops, Le Pen said that her only "red line" on Ukraine is that France should not become "complicit in the conflict" by using French long-range missiles against targets on Russian territory.
