Kazakhstan's Qazaq Air has suspended flights to Russia's Tatarstan. Flights are canceled from April 5 for an indefinite period. This was reported by the airline's press service, UNN reports.

According to the Kazakhstani company, it is a question of suspending flights from Aktobe to Kazan, and the reason for this decision was security concerns.

"In order to ensure flight safety, the Aktobe-Kazan-Aktobe flight service will be suspended from April 5, 2024," Qazaq Air said in a statement.

The airline's press service added that the planned resumption of flights "will be announced later.

Qazaq Air is a Kazakh airline with a hub in Astana and an extensive route network to provide interregional air services in Kazakhstan and the border areas of neighboring countries.

On the morning of April 2, drones attacked businesses in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. The explosions took place in the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, which houses industrial and manufacturing enterprises and is more than 1,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
