According to recent reports, the Japanese government has announced the extension of trade sanctions against russia for another year. This decisive action is intended to respond to russia's bloody invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki confirmed that Japan is going to cooperate with the international community to deter russian aggression.

As part of these sanctions, Japan will continue to impose higher duties on all imports from russia until the end of March 2025. This means, in particular, an increase in duties on salmon and crabs. In particular, duties on salmon will increase from 3.5% to 5%, and on crabs - from 4% to 6%
