The scheme of the Iranian attack on Israel on the night of April 14 is similar to the strikes that Russia has repeatedly carried out against Ukraine. This assessment was made by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), UNN reports.
Details
The scheme of an Iranian attack on Israel is similar to the strikes that Russia has repeatedly launched against Ukraine, trying to determine the best way to break through Western-style air and missile defenses.
According to analysts, the missile and drone attack on Israel shows that Iran is learning from the Russians and Houthis to develop more dangerous and effective ways to strike against Israel and the United States.
The combination of Iranian drones and cruise and ballistic missiles against Israel is designed to confuse Israeli air defenses. Simultaneous attacks by Iranian-backed militias in Lebanon and Yemen are part of this effort.
"This Iranian approach mirrors Russian experiments with combinations of ballistic and cruise missiles alongside Iranian drones to deliver increasingly effective strikes capable of penetrating U.S. and European missile and air defense systems," the analysts' report says.
The ISW notes that Iran has also learned lessons from Houthi attacks on international shipping around Yemen.

The Houthis reportedly used a combination of Iranian drones and missiles against U.S. air and missile defense systems, allowing Iran and the Houthis to test and improve their strike systems.
Continued use of Iranian-made drones by numerous US adversaries and deepening ties between the entities that use them will help Tehran, Russia, North Korea and China to improve the use of these systems against the United States, its allies and partners
Recall
Iran overnight launched 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles and 120 ballistic missiles at Israel. The IDF claims to have shot down 99% of the targets and is already opening airspace.
