As a result of Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon, one journalist was injured and another was trapped under rubble, which rescuers could not reach for a long time due to shelling. The incident occurred near the city of Al-Tairi. Journalist Amal Khalil and freelance photographer Zeinab Faraj were working at the scene when an Israeli strike hit a car in front of them. After that, their car crashed into a building, which also suffered a repeated strike.

Faraj sustained a head injury and was evacuated. Khalil's fate is currently unknown.

Evacuation problems

According to Lebanese representatives, rescuers could not immediately reach the victim due to continuous fire.

Israel's version

Israel stated that it had detected two vehicles that had left a military facility associated with Hezbollah and crossed the so-called front line of defense.

According to the military, the vehicles "approached the soldiers in a way that posed an immediate threat to their safety." The Israeli side also emphasized that it does not conduct targeted attacks against journalists.

According to Lebanese state media, two people were killed in the initial car strike, their identities are currently unknown. According to Lebanese authorities, more than 2,400 people have died in the country since the start of the Israeli operation in response to the Hezbollah attack on March 2.
