The Iraqi armed group "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" has announced a reward of $10 million for the assassination of US President Donald Trump, or for financing or organizing such an assassination attempt. This is stated in a statement by the group, reports Shafaq News, according to UNN.
Details
As representatives of the group noted, the reward was announced after, in their words, Trump "boasted" about his role in the elimination of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani and the deputy head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
The statement claims that the $10 million was raised through donations from members of the group and its supporters.
During a meeting at the White House with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, Donald Trump mentioned his role in the elimination of Soleimani and al-Muhandis. In response, the head of the Iraqi government noted that these events occurred before he entered politics.
Separately, the family of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis stated that Trump's words allegedly "testify to his fear," and also criticized the reaction of the Iraqi Prime Minister during the meeting in Washington.
