The Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office continues to identify all officials involved in the illegal use of 226 hectares of state forest for a residence known as "Medvedchuk's dacha." This was reported by UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, on July 22, suspicion was notified of official negligence to the former director of the branch "Svalyava Forestry" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine," who is currently a deputy of the Svalyava City Council (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In 2022–2024, the suspect failed to ensure proper control over the use of forest fund lands and did not take measures to stop their misuse. Indictments have also been sent to court against three officials — the head of the regional forestry and former heads of the Volovets and Svalyava forestry enterprises.
According to the investigation, knowing the intended purpose of the lands, they approved and concluded contracts that allowed the use of state forest for the needs of a private residence. Pre-trial investigation into three other individuals is ongoing. Depending on their role, they are charged with unauthorized occupation of a land plot, abuse of power, and official negligence that caused grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 197-1, Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). This concerns a forest area of 226 hectares on which the "Vedmezha Dibrova" complex was built. The territory was fenced with a three-meter fence about 8 kilometers long, restricting access for citizens and forestry workers. The site contains buildings, roads, and other infrastructure facilities
The sanctions of the articles provide for imprisonment from 2 to 6 years, or long-term incarceration.
