Since the beginning of 2026, road infrastructure restoration works have been ongoing in Ukraine. As part of repair measures, over 18 million square meters of road surface have already been restored. This is stated in a report by the Ministry of Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine, writes UNN.
The largest volumes of work have been carried out in Kirovohrad, Kyiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. About 550 road workers are employed daily on the highways. In most regions, repairs are carried out using the "card" laying method, which allows for the quick restoration of traffic on the most damaged sections
Work continues on key international and national routes: M-06 Kyiv – Chop, M-19 Domanove – Kovel – Chernivtsi – Terebleche, M-30 Stryi – Uman – Dnipro – Izvaryne, and others.
Important road works are ongoing and being completed in the regions:
- Zhytomyr region — the asphalt paving of the Berdychiv bypass is in its final stage. On the 13 km section of road M-21 Vystupovychi – Zhytomyr – Mohyliv-Podilskyi, the surface has been completely renewed, and work continues on the arrangement of shoulders, exits, barriers, and road markings;
- Kharkiv region — since the beginning of the year, over 310 thousand square meters of surface have been repaired on the M-03 Kyiv – Kharkiv – Dovzhanskyi road;
- Sumy region — repairs have been completed on individual sections of roads N-07 Sumy – Kyiv, N-12 Sumy – Poltava, R-60 Krolevets – Konotop – Romny – Pyriatyn, and R-61 Baturyn – Konotop – Sumy, with a total length of about 40 km;
- Ivano-Frankivsk region — repairs using large cards have been completed on roads N-09 Mukachevo – Lviv and N-10 Stryi – Mamalyha;
- Dnipropetrovsk region — on road R-51 Merefa – Lozova – Pavlohrad, over 152 thousand square meters of surface have been restored on a section over 35 km long.
