In Ukraine, 1,821 fires in ecosystems were recorded, resulting in nearly 2,250 hectares of territory being burned. The Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Kyiv regions suffered the most. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.

According to the released data, the largest area of fire was recorded in the Zhytomyr region – 842.3 hectares. Significant fires also occurred in the Chernihiv region – 503.65 hectares, Kyiv region – 201.47 hectares, and Rivne region – 182.73 hectares.
Among other regions where large-scale fires were recorded: Zakarpattia – 114.04 ha; Dnipropetrovsk – 80.13 ha; Volyn – 61.27 ha; Kharkiv – 60.26 ha; Vinnytsia – 41.69 ha; Lviv – 40.08 ha; Poltava – 23.75 ha; Cherkasy – 17.64 ha; Ivano-Frankivsk – 13.42 ha; Odesa – 13.23 ha, and other regions of the country.
The report also reminded of the danger of burning dry vegetation and garbage.

The air quality in the Kyiv region is stable, and radiation levels are normal. Rescuers continue to extinguish a large-scale forest fire in the Exclusion Zone covering 1,200 hectares.
