From July 22 to August 26, Kyiv funicular will be closed for annual scheduled maintenance. Equipment will be repaired, parts will be replaced, and tests will be carried out before resuming operations.

The Kyiv funicular will be closed from July 22 to August 26 for scheduled repairs. This is reported by the KCSA press service, UNN reports.

Details

It is noted that such repairs are carried out annually. At the same time, KCSA said that it will be done between July 22 and August 26:

  • The machine, compressor and thyristor halls will be repaired.
  • The cable will be cut.
  • The contact network and sleepers will be inspected and partially replaced.
  • They will carry out routine repairs of railcars.

KCSA also reported that before the launch of the funicular, specialists will conduct static and dynamic tests under load.

On July 18, a fire broke out in a grocery supermarket on Zdolbunivska Street in the Poznyaki district of Kyiv . The fire was preceded by an explosion, probably of a generator or transformer.
