The Polish Ministry of Culture reported the completion of the second stage of search works in the village of Puzhnyky in the Ternopil region of Ukraine. During the expedition, a second mass grave of Poles killed in 1945 could not be found. This was reported by RMF24, as conveyed by UNN.

The next search works in Puzhnyky have been completed, carried out by the Freedom and Democracy Foundation in cooperation with the Pomeranian Medical University, with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Institute of National Remembrance. According to the publication, the second stage of search works began this week on the territory of the cemetery of the now-nonexistent village of Puzhnyky. Earlier, in September 2025, the remains of 43 people were reburied there. According to eyewitness accounts, the remains of about 90 more victims may be in the second mass grave.
In addition, last week search works were completed in the former village of Huta Pieniacka in the Lviv region. The Polish expedition reported the discovery of sites where about 100 people may be buried. Exhumations there are tentatively planned for next year.
