Two months ago, on October 12, the Odesa Regional Administration created a working group "Transparency and Accountability" to filter out suspicious tenders. The group includes representatives of all law enforcement agencies and the public. The head of the working group, deputy head of the Odesa Regional State Administration Serhii Kropyva told about the first tangible achievements on the air of Odesa's Channel 7, UNN reports
Details
He said that the group had already checked 100 tenders, and as a result, UAH 13 million was returned to the budget.
"We have accumulated UAH 13 million, so territorial communities and other institutions have the opportunity to use it for the Defense Forces," Kropyva emphasized.
According to him, the number of strange tenders has decreased by almost half since the working group started its activities.
"We are constantly communicating with the public, and therefore we know that the number of tenders that can be considered as non-priority tenders has decreased by 40%. We can conclude that all the entities, all the state officials who have announced certain tenders until now thought they would probably get away with it. And now they realize that each tender is under unrealistic focus of our attention and the attention of the society," he said.
Citizens themselves take an active part in checking tenders - more than 160 applications have been submitted to the regional administration. "It's nice that they are not indifferent, they inform us, they want to know about this or that tender. They analyze it in detail, tell us why it is necessary to carry out this or that activity and why not," says Kropyva.

It is worth reminding
that Kateryna Nozhevnikova, head of the Monster Corporation, was invited to one of the working group's meetings and was impressed after the meeting.
"To summarize: I left this building for the first time with the feeling that something can really change. Of course, I am very cautious in my assessments, because the beginning can be great, and then everything can go wrong. But for the first time, I saw on the faces of some officials an understanding that things will not be the same. The head of the commission is already respected and respected. The head of the DEC also has my respect - the very emergence of such a commission and the admission of people like me to it is something "on the verge of fantasy" for Odesa Oblast," she said.
