Twelve people died in northern China as a result of the accident of a homemade sightseeing boat. This was reported by Xinhua, according to UNN.

The incident occurred in Qinhuangdao, Hebei province, on Saturday, when a boat with 31 people on board capsized during a tour of a local river, and all passengers ended up in the water. 12 of them died.
After the tragedy, six people were reported missing, but on Sunday, local authorities were able to confirm that all six had been found and were alive and well.
The investigation revealed that the boat used for the excursions was handmade by local villagers and was not equipped with lifebuoys or life jackets.
The owner of the boat and those who used it for excursions were detained by the police.
