The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, urged residents of the community to respond responsibly to air raid signals, emphasizing that the events taking place in Kyiv could repeat in western Ukraine as early as September-October. Martsinkiv stated this on Facebook, reports UNN.
"I traditionally ask to respond to alarms. We see what is happening in Kyiv. I predict that around September-October it will be extremely difficult, and the enemy will strike precisely at the west of our country. I cannot tell everything, but we are preparing for this challenge. Unfortunately, we must strengthen air defense, because what is happening in Kyiv could repeat in Ivano-Frankivsk,"
He also suggested that provocations from Belarus are possible.
The mayor added that he does not expect massive shelling in the near future, but emphasized that no city in Ukraine is currently completely safe, so he urged residents not to ignore air raid warnings.
