The Icelandic government has issued permits to two companies to slaughter 426 whales annually until 2029. Hunting is allowed from mid-June to September for fin whales and whales in Minsk.

The outgoing Icelandic government on Thursday, December 5, issued two companies permits to slaughter whales for the next five years. This is stated in the message of the Icelandic government, writes UNN.

Iceland's permits provide for the annual slaughter of 209 fin whales and 217 minke whales during the whaling season, which lasts from mid-June to September.

Whale slaughter permits in Iceland are usually issued for five years, but the last ones expired in 2023.
