This was reported by the Danish Football Association, according to UNN.
I spoke with Christian this morning, and he is feeling well. He is with his family and in good spirits. It is expected that he will be discharged soon and will be able to return home. We are taking good care of the players and staff and maintaining regular contact with them
Addition
Yesterday, June 7, the friendly match between the national teams of Denmark and Ukraine was stopped in the 67th minute with the score at 2:1 in favor of Denmark due to captain Christian Eriksen losing consciousness.
In the 67th minute, Eriksen clutched his chest and then collapsed onto the turf. As a result, the game was suspended for a long period. Fortunately, the player regained consciousness after receiving medical assistance, after which he was taken from the field by an ambulance.
During Euro 2020, Eriksen lost consciousness right on the pitch at the end of the first half of the opening round match between the national teams of Denmark and Finland (0:1). The footballer suffered a cardiac arrest, but the medical team managed to save his life. After that, he underwent a long rehabilitation and returned to professional football, however, he plays with a pacemaker.
Christian feels well and left the field on his own. In my opinion, the pacemaker worked as it should have. He lost consciousness briefly but came to very quickly, and we established contact with him rapidly. Now he will undergo additional examinations at the hospital to determine the cause of the incident. Christian feels well; he asked me to pass on greetings to all the players and tell them that he is fine
After the match, the head coach of the Danish national team, Brian Riemer, thanked the Ukrainian team and fans for their reaction to the situation.
You know, this commands immense respect, and I by no means take it for granted. I think we can never fully thank them for the way they behaved. I'm not even talking about the decision to stop the match now, but about their sincere sympathy. About their immediate reaction at the moment when a protective circle was formed around Christian. About the behavior of the entire stadium. The way they supported us and from the very first second made it clear: "We are ready to help with whatever is necessary." This testifies to their highest human class
Also, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine, Andrea Maldera, stated that the players and coaching staff were stunned by the situation.
We are stunned by what we saw. Our entire team and the fans are mentally with Eriksen and his family. I sympathize with the fans of the Danish national team who experienced those terrifying minutes. As a sign of respect for Christian, it would be inappropriate to talk about football. When this episode occurred, the Danish coach approached me and we decided together to stop the match. I believe that life is the highest value. Everything else is secondary
UAF President Andriy Shevchenko expressed support for Christian Eriksen: "I wish health and strength to the legendary Danish national team player Christian Eriksen. Life is the main value. Life is more important than anything. Fans in the stands and throughout Ukraine are with you, Christian."
