The German government has denied information about a possible restriction of financial assistance to Ukraine in 2025. Germany reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ukraine and continuing arms supplies.

The German government has denied rumors of a possible restriction of financial assistance to Ukraine in 2025 due to domestic political considerations and budget problems, stressing that support will remain unchanged. Writes UNN with reference to Deutsche Welle.

The German government has denied rumors that financial assistance to Ukraine next year will be limited for domestic political reasons and problems with the federal budget.

"Germany remains absolutely committed to its cause, and the Chancellor's words that support for Ukraine will last as long as necessary, and that no one, especially the Russian president, can hope that we will weaken these efforts, remain in force," said Deputy official representative of the German government Wolfgang Buchner in Berlin.

Buchner made this statement against the background of press reports that in 2025, military assistance to Ukraine from Germany, due to budget restrictions, will not exceed the planned 4 billion euros.

He stressed that "nothing will change in our participation and determination to support Ukraine," and called "shameful" speculation that the German federal government may limit financial assistance to Ukraine before the elections to land parliaments (Landtag) in the eastern regions of Germany.

According to opinion polls, a significant part of residents of the Eastern Federal States of Germany are skeptical about the supply of weapons to Ukraine and its support from Germany, preferring the early start of peace talks between Moscow and Kiev.

Buchner also denied claims that Germany will reduce support for Ukraine "due to domestic political considerations," emphasizing plans "to achieve international funding for assistance to Ukraine from 2025."He noted that the group of seven countries are working on using frozen Russian assets as guarantees for providing Ukraine with loans worth 50 billion euros, which should become available in 2025.

He also denied reports of the suspension of the supply of certain types of weapons, in particular the IRIS-T SLM air defense system, to Ukraine for financial reasons, emphasizing that this is false information.

This year, Germany will supply Ukraine with four IRIS-T SLM anti-aircraft missile systems, ten Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, 16 self-propelled howitzers, ten Leopard tanks, combat drones and several thousand artillery and tank shells, as General Christian Freuding said earlier in the Bundeswehr's Nachgefragt podcast.

A German Foreign Ministry official also confirmed that the country will continue to work together with other partners to provide Ukraine with the necessary resources to continue the struggle for freedom and self-determination, the AFP news agency reported on August 19.
