Details
The second round of elections (if necessary) will also be held on December 14
According to Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, it is important that the elections and inauguration take place this year so that the president's term of office is 5 years, not 6.
Earlier, the opposition channel Mtavari reported that the head of the Georgian Dream party Irakli Garibashvili and Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, the son of the first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, are being considered for the presidency.
Today it became known that the new government will be approved at a parliamentary meeting on Thursday, November 28.
For the first time, the president of Georgia will be elected by an electoral college rather than by the population. It consists of 300 people, including 150 members of the Georgian parliament, members of the Supreme Councils of Ajara and the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic (in exile). This year, 109 members of the Collegium from the representative bodies of local self-government will be nominated by their respective political parties in accordance with the quotas set by the Central Election Commission. The quotas are determined in compliance with the principle of proportional geographical representation and in accordance with the proportion based on the results of the local self-government elections held in 2021. The composition of the Election Board will be approved by the Central Election Commission.
At least 30 members of the electoral college have the right to nominate a candidate for the presidency of Georgia.
In Tbilisi , on the eve of the first session of the 11th convocation of the parliament, protesters set up tents outside the parliament building in disagreement with the official results of the parliamentary elections

The legitimacy of the parliament is not recognized by the current president, Salome Zurabishvili, or the opposition parties.
