Finland, Britain and Estonia conduct joint exercises in the Baltic Sea to protect underwater infrastructure

Defense forces and border guards from Finland, the United Kingdom and Estonia are conducting military exercises in the Baltic Sea region on December 4-5 2023. This was reported by the press service of the Finnish Ministry of Defense, UNN reports.

The purpose of the exercise is to develop capabilities for monitoring and protection of underwater infrastructure and to repel underwater military threats

the report says.

The Finnish Defense Ministry clarifies that these exercises are part of strengthening the presence of the Joint Expeditionary Force for Defense Cooperation (JEF) presence and surveillance in the Baltic Sea region.
