European Union ambassadors have agreed to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation for human rights violations for another year. This was reported by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty's Europe editor Rikard Jozwiak on X, according to UNN.

"EU ambassadors have just extended for one year the sanctions on around 70 individuals from Russia responsible for human rights violations worldwide," Jozwiak wrote.
He also added that EU ambassadors agreed to expand the scope of sanctions against Iran to be able to target individuals and entities responsible for obstructing freedom of navigation.
