Emergency power outages are beginning to be recorded across Ukraine amid extreme heat, local authorities and oblenergo report, writes UNN.
Rivne region
"The abnormal heat has led to an overload of the power system. Because of this, emergency blackouts occur in the region during the day. Energy workers are working in an enhanced mode, promptly responding to such cases. Overall, the electricity supply situation in the Rivne region is currently under control. I am in constant contact with the energy workers," wrote the head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koval, on social media on Monday.
He urged consumers "to use powerful electrical appliances safely and rationally. It is especially necessary not to overload the system from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM."
"According to weather forecasters, this heat will last until July 2," he stated.
Khmelnytskyi region
"Due to extreme weather conditions, emergency power outages have occurred in some areas of the city and region," stated Khmelnytskyioblenergo.
As noted, energy workers "are already working to restore the distribution of electricity supply and are carrying out all necessary operational switching to restore power to consumers as quickly as possible."
