Due to Russian attacks, five regions are partially without power; in Kyiv, one energy worker was killed and three others were injured; due to bad weather, consumers in four regions are without electricity; no blackout schedules are expected, the Ministry of Energy reported on Thursday, writes UNN.
Enemy attacks
As a result of hostilities and shelling of energy facilities, some consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions are temporarily without electricity.
It is noted that energy workers are working to restore power to Ukrainian homes as quickly as possible. Restoration work continues around the clock.
"Yesterday, in Kyiv, while performing official duties as a result of an enemy drone attack on an energy facility, one energy worker was killed, and three others were injured of varying severity," the Ministry of Energy stated.
The injured were taken to the hospital, where they are receiving all necessary medical care.
Bad weather
"Due to bad weather, 168 settlements in Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Sumy, and Poltava regions remain without electricity," the statement reads.
Repair crews are working on restoration.
Will there be schedules
"No restrictions are forecasted for today," the ministry reported.
However, active energy consumption today should be shifted to daytime hours — from 10:00 to 16:00.
According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption shows a downward trend. Today, July 9, as of 09:30, it was 2.7% lower than at the same time the previous day — Wednesday. The reason for the changes is clear weather in the central and southwestern regions of Ukraine. This ensures high efficiency of household solar power plants and a corresponding reduction in energy consumption from the general grid. Yesterday, July 8, the daily maximum consumption was recorded during the day. It was 2.9% higher than the maximum of the previous day — Tuesday, July 7. The reason is cloudy weather in most regions and an increase in energy consumption due to inefficient operation of household solar power plants.
