According to Shin Won-sik, North Korea initially relied on ships to deliver weapons to Russia, but is now increasingly using railroads. He added that Pyongyang probably received more than 9,000 containers of aid in exchange for military support.
According to Sky News, the United States and South Korea have previously accused North Korea of sending shells and other military aid to Russia during the war in Ukraine. In turn, Russia and Pyongyang have denied these allegations.
South Korea's defense minister made the announcement during a press conference hours after the South Korean military said that the DPRK had launched short-range ballistic missiles in the country's eastern waters.
