Does the Rada want to rehabilitate itself in the eyes of the authorities? ARMA ordered an audit

The head of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency, Olena Duma, is probably still looking for ways to rehabilitate herself in the eyes of the authorities and society for her previous failures. This time, she proudly announced that she had ordered an audit of the Agency from the Accounting Chamber. This happened, among other things, after a number of reports that ARMA has never had a high-quality external audit, UNN writes.

"Despite some attempts to discredit the Agency's work through the dishonest actions of former employees, the new ARMA team is working tirelessly to strengthen the institutional capacity of the agency. As part of this strategy, ARMA has initiated an audit by the Accounting Chamber, which will cover the Agency's activities for 2023. This step is aimed at ensuring", - reported Duma.

At the same time, the head of the ARMA said that in 2024, "the effective management of seized assets and their sale brought more than UAH 1.7 billion to the state budget of Ukraine, which is 47 times higher than in 2022.

It would seem that the 47-fold difference is impressive. However, the Duma apparently forgot to clarify that on February 24, 2022, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine and the work of government agencies was actually paralyzed at first. At the beginning of the great war, even the courts did not work in full - only urgent petitions, such as the application of preventive measures in the form of detention, were considered.

In addition, in her post, Duma was modestly silent about her "professionalism" that led to the loss of the yacht of the traitorous ex-MP Viktor Medvedchuk worth almost 8.5 billion hryvnias. But the 1.7 billion mentioned by the head of the ARMA looks nice.

Recall

The ARMA has recently been in the spotlight for losing the Royal Romance yacht, which belonged to former MP Viktor Medvedchuk, a suspect in high treason. Despite the yacht's arrest by a Croatian court and its transfer to Ukraine for sale, ARMA has not been able to sell the asset in two years.

Having investigated the topic, managed to find outthat the main delay in the sale of the yacht of the traitorous ex-MP was due to the fact that the new head of the ARMA, Olena Duma, had been preparing changes to the legislation on the sale of foreign assets for almost six months. At the same time, at the time of her appointment to the ARMA, the Prosecutor General's Office, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had already prepared a draft of changes, but Duma categorically rejected it.

In this regard, the ARMA only launched a tender on March 20, 2024, to select a seller to sell the yacht, and a month later it finally selected the winner. It is worth noting that the selection of the winner took place a month before the expiration of the maximum period of seizure of this asset, which made its sale virtually impossible.

Former MP Ihor Mosiychuk believes that the head of the ARMA acted in the interests of Medvedchuk by delaying the sale of his yacht. He calls for an investigation into whether this was intentional or due to incompetence.

Human rights activist Eduard Bagirov is convinced that the investigation should establishwhether the delay in the sale of Medvedchuk's yacht by the head of the Duma was negligence. If there is evidence of her guilt, he said, the head of the ARMA should be held criminally liable.

The State Bureau of Investigation is already investigating a criminal proceeding on the fact of alleged official negligence by the ARMA leadership. It was opened back in March of this year and does not relate to the situation with Medvedchuk's yacht.
