A court has ordered the Trump administration to preserve messages in Signal due to a leak scandal. This is reported by the BBC, передає УНН.
Details
A federal court in the United States has ruled that former officials of the Donald Trump administration must preserve messages in the encrypted messenger Signal. This happened after a journalist accidentally found himself in a group chat discussing details of a possible military strike against the Yemeni Houthis.
The decision was made by Judge James Boasberg of the District of Columbia. He ruled that messages sent between March 11 and 15 must be preserved as part of a lawsuit filed by the human rights organization American Oversight. The plaintiffs argue that these communications may contain important information about decision-making in the White House and potential violations of national security procedures.
