A new report by the Wall Street Journal claims that the relationship between Broccolis and Amazon "collapsed" after the latter bought MGM back in 2022.
The publication claims that longtime Bond producer Barbara Broccoli distrusts "algorithm-driven Amazon" with James Bond so much that she doesn't even want to make a movie with the company. (According to the WSJ, she reportedly told her friends directly that the tech company's employees are "fucking idiots.")
The WSJ report claims that Amazon executives were excited about the popularity of James Bond after the acquisition of MGM. Such ideas ranged from Prime Video shows to spin-offs for specific characters or even a female-led 007 project.
According to reports, they want to consider people of color, women, and gays for the role of James Bond. However, according to Barbara Broccoli, he must be British.
