The occupation administration in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia Oblast has faced complete technical paralysis: in the region's largest cities – Melitopol and Berdyansk – the card payment system has stopped working, leading to large-scale humanitarian chaos. This is reported by the Center for National Resistance of the SSO of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (CNR), UNN informs.
Details
It is noted that the widespread banking connection failure has blocked the possibility of paying for goods and services in critically important sectors.
- Public transport: terminals do not accept payments, limiting movement around the city.
- Pharmacies and stores: residents cannot purchase medicines and essential products using cards.
- Access to funds: thousands of people have effectively been left without money, as the occupiers have for a long time been forcibly transferring all payments to Russian bank cards for total control.
Due to the invaders' inability to maintain basic infrastructure, markets and retail outlets have switched exclusively to cash. This has provoked huge queues at the few operating ATMs and cash withdrawal points
They add that the connection with the aggressor's banking services currently remains unstable, and the prospects for restoring terminal operations are uncertain.
Reminder
According to the CNR, in the occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia mobile communications do not work due to equipment appropriated by the Russians. People are in isolation and cannot call emergency services.
