The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has submitted Bill No. 15287 on narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration. This was reported by UNN with reference to the parliament's press service.
Details
This bill expands the powers of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine: the agency is to develop rules for an early warning system regarding the emergence of new psychoactive substances, as well as submit these instructions for approval by the government of Ukraine.
Taras Melnychuk, the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada, noted that this bill is intended to supplement the Law of Ukraine "On Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances, and Precursors" dated February 15, 1995 (as amended) with the terms "new psychoactive substance" and "early warning system for new psychoactive substances."
As a reminder
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation exposed a Kyiv law enforcement officer who, according to the investigation, was involved in transporting large batches of psychotropic substances for further sale.
