Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost more than 3,600 main battle tanks and nearly 8,000 armored vehicles. Due to this, the occupiers are forced to retrieve outdated equipment from storage, according to a new report from the UK Ministry of Defense, reports UNN.
Details
Losses of Russian military equipment in Ukraine continue to grow. Since February 2022, Russia has lost more than 3,600 main battle tanks and about 8,000 armored vehicles. This has led to the use of outdated and poorly maintained Soviet-era equipment from strategic stockpiles.
It is noted that the Russians are extracting armored vehicles from storage, modernizing them where possible, and sending them to the front lines.
The UK Ministry of Defense also published images that, according to the agency, confirm a significant reduction in the number of armored vehicles at tank storage bases in Arsenyev, Bui, and Ulan-Ude since 2022.
Supplement
On December 14, the Russian army lost the largest number of vehicles since the beginning of the large-scale invasion, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed and damaged 181 enemy vehicles.
