Bodies of two missing teenage girls found in a pond in Odesa region

In the Rozdilna district, girls aged 16 and 17 were found dead. Their bodies were discovered in a pond after extensive searches by law enforcement officers.

In the Odesa region, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the deaths of two underage residents of the Rozdilna district. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Details

On June 6, a resident of the village of Zatyshshia reported the disappearance of two girls, aged 16 and 17, to the police. According to the relative, they were supposed to visit him but stopped responding to calls.

Law enforcement officers interviewed local residents and checked public places and youth recreation areas. Subsequently, the clothes of the missing girls were found at a pond where they had been relaxing.

Divers from the State Emergency Service were brought in to search the body of water. However, in the morning, the girls were found in the water showing no signs of life

 - the police reported.

An investigative-operational group from the territorial police unit is working at the scene to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy.

The police urged citizens to swim only in designated areas and to follow safety rules. Separately, law enforcement officers appealed to parents and guardians to monitor the leisure activities of minors and remind them of these precautions.

Recall

In the Rivne region, 15-year-old Roman Kyryliuk, who had gone missing, was found dead. The boy's body was discovered in a forest 8 kilometers from his home.
