The Three Seas Initiative summit adopted a joint declaration in which participants expressed their commitment to a more resilient Europe and a stronger transatlantic partnership. The participants also expressed their unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight against Russia. This was stated during a briefing by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, an UNN correspondent reports.
"Today's Three Seas Initiative Summit adopted a joint declaration that I hope will serve as an impetus to move forward in all of these priority areas. In this declaration, we expressed our commitment to seeing a more resilient Europe and a stronger transatlantic partnership," Nausėda said.
He noted that it was noted that the Three Seas Initiative now has 143 priority projects in the transport, energy, and digital sectors.
"At the summit, we also unanimously condemned Russia's war against Ukraine and expressed our unwavering support in the fight against the aggressor. We welcome the European Council's decision to launch the accession process with Ukraine and Moldova, as further enlargement of the European Union is a prerequisite for stability and prosperity in our region," Nausėda said.
