This year, about 15% of participants - or nearly every 7th - of the main session of the National Multi-Subject Test failed to score the minimum number of points to obtain a result on the 100–200 scale in at least one subject. This is reported by UNN with reference to data from the Ukrainian Center for Educational Quality Assessment.
According to the UCEQA, the main sessions of the NMT-2026 lasted from May 20 to June 25. A total of 354,463 individuals registered to participate, and 324,284 test-takers actually took the test. Results were received by 324,003 applicants.
Details
The threshold for all four subjects was overcome by 275,934 participants, or 85.09%. At the same time, 14.83% of participants did not score the required minimum in at least one subject. This is approximately every seventh participant of the main NMT session.
The UCEQA clarified that among graduates of general secondary education institutions in 2026, the share of those who did not overcome the threshold in at least one subject is 12.96%. That is, the rate among this year's school students is lower than among all test participants.
For comparison, in 2025, the share of participants who did not overcome the threshold in at least one subject was 13.51%, and in 2024 — 14.38%. Among school graduates, this figure was 12.36% in 2025 and 13.23% in 2024.
In 2026, NMT participants took four subjects: Ukrainian language, mathematics, history of Ukraine, and one elective subject. To obtain a result on the 100–200 scale, it was necessary to score at least 15% of the maximum number of test points. In particular, the threshold for Ukrainian language was 8 test points, and for history of Ukraine — 9 points.
If an applicant does not score the minimum point in a subject, the result on the 100–200 scale for that discipline is not formed. This makes full participation in the competitive selection for higher education institutions impossible.
At the same time, some participants showed maximum results. According to the UCEQA, 3,671 applicants received 200 points in at least one subject. Another 259 participants scored 200 points in two subjects, 28 — in three. The maximum result in all four subjects was achieved by two participants.
The most 200-point results were recorded in English — 2,164. In mathematics, the maximum score was obtained by 1,145 participants, in history of Ukraine — 364, in Ukrainian language — 266.
