On Railroader's Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Ukrzaliznytsia employees, congratulated them on their professional holiday and awarded them with state awards, UNN reports.

"Your movement is the movement of the whole of Ukraine, our defense, our economy, even our communication with the whole world: almost all delegations of our partners arrive in Ukraine thanks to you, because they arrive by Ukrainian rail. And you unite all corners of Ukraine, give Ukrainians the opportunity to see their relatives and friends no matter what. Thousands of railroaders are now in the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine and are fighting for Ukraine at the front," Zelensky said.

He emphasized that for thousands of Ukrainian enterprises, the railroad is a pillar of survival, which means saving jobs for many people.

"This is all a tremendous work and really one of the most significant contributions to the preservation of Ukraine. Thank you for this. I congratulate you on your professional holiday, on the Day of the Railway Worker," Zelensky added.

Zelenskyy also awarded Ukrzaliznytsia employees with the Order of Merit of the third degree and the Order of Princess Olga of the third degree.
