Administration of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU) lifts ban on Telegram

The new KNU administration has lifted restrictions on Telegram following an appeal from the student parliament. The ban had previously been introduced by the dismissed rector, Volodymyr Buhrov.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv has lifted the ban on using Telegram within its internal computer network. This was reported by the KNU Student Parliament, according to UNN

Details 

As stated by the Student Parliament, on November 11, 2024, an order by the then-rector of KNU, Volodymyr Bugrov, introduced a ban on the use of Telegram for University employees, which was subsequently extended to students in dormitories and academic buildings. 

After the Student Parliament appealed to the University's new administration, the issue was reviewed. And today, an order was signed to lift the relevant restrictions. We are grateful that the students' request was heard and this issue was promptly resolved 

- the Student Parliament noted.

The Ministry of Education and Science dismissed Volodymyr Bugrov from the post of Rector of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
