The SBU reported that one of the priority tasks of the spotters, as defined by the enemy, was to conduct reconnaissance near a local thermal power plant that supplies power to the frontline areas of the region.
As the investigation established, local residents were involved in directing the air strikes. They acted independently of each other but had a common curator from the Russian special service.

One of the suspects is a draft evader from Dnipro who almost never left his home and covertly extracted the information needed by the Russians from neighbors and relatives.
It has been documented that under the guise of everyday conversations, he tried to find out not only the technical condition of the local thermal power plant but also the coordinates of the firing positions of the Ukrainian air defense.
Another suspect is an unemployed woman from Zelenodolsk who walked around the area to identify and record the basing points of mobile fire groups. The woman also tracked the consequences of air strikes on local energy facilities.
The Security Service exposed both agents, documented their crimes, and detained them.
During searches, the suspects' smartphones with evidence of working for the enemy were seized.
Investigators of the Security Service notified the agents of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The perpetrators are in custody without the right to bail. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The comprehensive measures were carried out by employees of the Main Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
