About 8000 North Korean troops have been deployed to the Kursk region of Russia. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, UNN reports with reference to Voice of America.
Blinken said that about 8,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to Kursk region.
"We have not yet seen these troops engage in combat against Ukrainian forces, but we expect that to happen in the coming days," Blinken said.
Blinken added that the US will soon announce new arms packages for Ukraine.
According to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, Russia has trained North Korean troops in the use of artillery, UAVs, and basic infantry operations. The DPRK troops were also provided with Russian uniforms and equipment, Austin said.
