About 6 thousand men of military age go abroad every day. Of these, 150-200 men travel as volunteers through the Shlyakh system. Mostly truck drivers and accompanying persons with disabilities cross the border. Colonel Ihor Matviychuk, head of the Border Control Organization Department of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service, said this at a press conference, UNN reports.
Details
According to Matviychuk, about 6,000 men of military age leave Ukraine every day. Of these, 150-200 men are volunteering under the Shlyakh system. It is noted that about 45% of them are truck drivers.
He also noted that recently the number of men who marry women with many children and take advantage of this to leave has increased.
"The legislation does not specify the possibility of controlling a person who accompanies a person with a disability. That is, one person with a disability can be accompanied at different times by different people on the basis of an act of establishing the fact of care, which is issued to anyone. It is not protected, it can be forged. In fact, several people can leave with one person with a disability, and it is impossible to check whether the previous ones have returned. This system needs to be improved," added Matviychuk.
