"As for teachers' salaries. This is a painful problem," the minister said.
According to him, "everyone understands that it is very difficult for us to attract young people to teach in general secondary, out-of-school, vocational education, and preschool institutions today - they are generally socially marginalized, and the low salaries are simply unacceptable." "And we realize that the most expensive thing we have is given into the hands of people who receive, well, the lowest salary, and this is absurd," Lisovyi said.
"But I want to say the following: we have developed a certain approach, a certain concept of raising wages, and the legislation in the final provisions of the law on education provides for an increase in wages to three minimum wages, we know this, but today we have a critical situation in the budget, it is quite difficult," the minister said.
"God willing, the war will end, and we will be able to implement this concept, because today 70 percent, if not more, of the state budget is spent on war. - noted Lisovyi. - The President's position is that education is the number one priority after defense. We will defend the country, repel the enemy and make education the number one priority.
"I am absolutely confident that as soon as we have this enormous amount of money that we are spending on defense today... these funds will be poured into education," the minister emphasized.
