More than 100 fishermen were rescued from an ice floe on Lake Superior on Friday evening after the ice broke away from the shore and they were stranded.
According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, a total of 122 people were evacuated from the ice floe within hours.
The emergency service of the district Beltrami received a call shortly before 5 p.m. that dozens of fishermen were stranded on a piece of ice that had separated from the main shore and was separated by and were separated by more than 30 feet of open water.
