The top ten graduates of higher military educational institutions, who will serve in units of the AFU Special Operations Forces upon completion of their studies, underwent a solemn initiation and received steel SOF berets. This was reported by the Special Operations Forces, according to UNN.
Details
The ceremony combined military traditions, historical heritage, and the modern values of the Ukrainian military. The culmination of the event was a symbolic circle around a stone formed by nine cadets. The tenth participant placed an SOF sword upon the "Sword of Sviatoslav," forming the Roman numeral X in honor of the tenth anniversary of Ukraine's Special Operations Forces.
"Just as the sword of the father, Sviatoslav the Brave, once paved the way for the cross of his son, Volodymyr the Great, laying the foundations of our statehood, so shall you, with your weapons, pave the way to Ukraine's victory in the struggle against our eternal enemy,"
Cadets were presented with the Ethos of the Special Operations Forces
The SOF noted that over its ten years of existence, the branch of service has formed its own system of traditions, symbols, and values that complement the combat experience and professional training of the servicemen.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the cadets received the first edition of the Ethos of the Special Operations Forces – a collection of principles and moral guidelines for future officers.
"Today you have taken the first step toward becoming a true warrior. A warrior is not only about strength and skill. He remembers the past and adheres to traditions. A warrior is also defined by the virtues that shape his fighting spirit,"
