The ban on the sale of alcohol after 10 p.m. has been lifted in the Zhytomyr city community. However, the restriction does not apply to the curfew. This decision was made on August 7 at a meeting of the city executive committee, UNN reports.
On July 27 this year, the Law of Ukraine No. 3817-IX dated June 18, 2024 "On State Regulation of Production and Circulation of Ethyl Alcohol, Alcohol Distillates, Bioethanol, Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco Products, Tobacco Raw Materials, Liquids Used in Electronic Cigarettes and Fuel" came into force. The law stipulates that from the date of entry into force, the restrictions on the prohibition of trade in alcoholic beverages previously established by village, town, city, state and military administrations shall cease to be valid, except for restrictions on curfew times.
Taking into account the above, the draft decision proposes to consider the decision of the Executive Committee of 03.05.2024 No. 744 "On the Prohibition of the Sale of Alcoholic and Low-Alcohol Beverages" on the territory of the Zhytomyr City Community as invalid.
It is noted that at one time there was a decision to limit the sale of alcohol to 10 p.m. "But now the Verkhovna Rada considers that everything is fine, so we are bringing our documents in line," the city executive committee said at the meeting.
