Starting May 12, the eQueue system for border crossing will launch an automatic verification of the valid "Green Card" insurance certificate for commercial vehicles. This was reported by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, according to UNN.
"We continue to develop eQueue as a service that not only helps plan border crossings but also warns drivers of potential risks before they arrive at the checkpoint. Automatic verification of the 'Green Card' will help avoid unpleasant situations at the border, save drivers' time, and make the crossing more predictable and comfortable,"
It is noted that the user will see information in their personal account regarding the availability and status of insurance coverage for the vehicle that has a reserved slot in the queue.
Specifically, when booking a spot in the online queue, the system will automatically check for the existence of an insurance certificate; if it is missing, the user will see a corresponding notification and can proceed with the booking.
If the certificate has not yet come into effect at the time of booking, the queue entry will remain active until the status changes to "Entry" to the checkpoint. If insurance is still missing at that point, the system will automatically cancel the reservation.
eQueue users will also be able to see the expiration date of the insurance contract in their personal account, which will help them arrange for its renewal in advance.
The Ministry reminded that the "Green Card" is mandatory for buses, trucks, and other commercial vehicles traveling abroad. The absence of valid insurance can be grounds for refusal of border crossing.
