Day of the Anti-Aircraft Missile Forces of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

An official professional holiday established by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2011. Today it is one of the most important holidays for the country's security. The anti-aircraft soldiers ("Shahed and missile hunters") are those who daily and nightly hold the sky over Ukraine, protecting cities, infrastructure, and people's lives from aerial terror.

International Plastic Bag Free Day

A global environmental initiative aimed at drawing attention to the problem of plastic pollution of the planet. On this day, organizers call on people around the world to refuse single-use plastic bags in favor of reusable eco-bags, totes, or paper alternatives, in order to reduce the amount of non-degradable waste entering the World Ocean.

Secret Pal Day

A cute unofficial holiday when it is customary to do secret good deeds or give anonymous gifts to friends and acquaintances (similar to the "Secret Santa" game, but in summer and without ties to the New Year).

Day of Remembrance of the Martyr Hyacinth and Saint Anatolius, Patriarch of Constantinople

According to the new (New Julian) calendar, adopted by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, on this day they honor the young martyr Hyacinth, who suffered for the Christian faith at the beginning of the 2nd century, as well as Saint Anatolius, 5th century, who made significant efforts for the development of the church and the establishment of Orthodoxy in Byzantium.

In the folk calendar, this day was often called "Poppy Day," since traditionally at this time the poppy began to bloom. It was believed that poppies collected these days had special healing properties.
